Born from the green bloodline of Bloemfontein Celtic, Siwelele FC carries forward more than history, it carries boitsebahatso (identity). This is not a rebranding. It is a rightful return. Siwelele has always been more than a name, it is what we, the people, have called ourselves. It’s what our fathers, our mothers, our children chant from the stands. It’s in our veins, in our voices, in our village streets.
Siwelele FC honours the legacy of the club that inspired generations and stood as a symbol of pride for Mangaung and the Free State. But this is a new era. One of structure, vision, and purpose. We rise again, not to imitate the past, but to fulfil its promise.

For Calvin Le John, the journey of Siwelele is deeply personal. Raised in Bloemfontein during a time of hardship, with his father imprisoned, the young Calvin found solace, strength, and a sense of connection in the chants of Celtic fans and the embrace of the stadium stands.
It was his grandfather, an elder with green in his heart, who would take him to every home match. Those Saturday afternoons became more than tradition. They became therapy. Bloemfontein Celtic wasn’t just a football club, it became his inheritance, his bond across generations, his anchor in a storm.
Now, as Chairman of Siwelele FC, Le John is not trying to resurrect a ghost, he is nurturing a flame that never died. This is his tokafatso (redemption) and a gift to every boy, girl, mother and elder who ever cried “Siwelele!”
